Mani, an experienced guide in Madagascar
Coming from a rural family, Mani completed all his primary and secondary education in public schools in Antananarivo at a time when local education was Malagasy-ized. The textbooks of his elders and his passion for reading greatly helped him become familiar with the language of Molière. He spent his school holidays in the countryside. He would frolic in nature with his friends and mingle with village elders to learn the secrets of plants and animals from them.

At 16, to earn a little money and for fun during his free time, he would wait in town for passing tourists to offer them his guiding services. He already knew the history of the Rova of Antananarivo (the royal enclosure) and the Tsimbazaza Botanical and Zoological Park wonderfully well. He remembers his first rewards: a few dozen French francs and a red Swiss Army knife from a certain Stanislas, a missionary from the French Agency for Development (AFD). This was the beginning of his passion for the French language, nature, history, guiding, and accompaniment.
Years later, after his university studies in History, he became a tour leader for a receptive agency for major European tour operators (Jet Tours, Club Méd Découverte, Clio, Objectif Nature, etc.). He accompanied generalist or specialized tours (nature, history, and culture).
His passion, his extensive knowledge of Madagascar (fauna, flora, history, and civilization), his modesty, his smile, his kindness, and his good humor have greatly served him in satisfying the most demanding tourists.
